Nadia Matos

Education

Nadia graduated with a B.A. in History and Canadian Studies from Carleton University in 2001 in Ottawa and has a honours diploma in Broadcast Journalism and Communications from Mohawk College. During her professional career she has continued to upgrade her skills taking courses on social media management, business writing, economics, and public speaking. 

Video Production

In early 2002 she joined forces with a colleague and created a video production company, that produced corporate, educational and promotional videos.  Clients included but were not exclusive to; Janome, Kenmore and the Region of Waterloo.

Multi-media Journalist

Nadia worked as videojournalist for nearly 11 years at CTV Kitchener. Starting back in 2006 she's enjoyed getting to know the people and reporting from the communities of Waterloo, Kitchener, Cambridge, Guelph, Brantford, Woodstock and surrounding areas. She has worked as web writer, assignment editor, radio host, news reader and emcee. 


She has been both behind-the-scenes and on-air for local and national Canadian news outlets since 2004, including CTV Kitchener, Global National, Cogeco, Kool Fm, KFun and East Link TV

College Instructor

Nadia has also worked as college instructor at Mohawk College where she developed course curricula and taught classes as a sessional instructor.

Some of the course taught included, Technical Skills for Journalists, Fundamentals of Social Journalism, TV Tech, Advanced Social Journalism, Field Reporting, Diversity Reporting, Journalism Research Techniques, and Newsroom Management.

Media Relations

Nadia has also worked as media coach helping businesses and individuals better connect with traditional and new media.


She has the ability to connect with diverse audiences, and specializes in written communications and presentations – simplifying complex issues into engaging stories, while considering issues management and brand management.
